| New figures obtained through a freedom-of-information request show that 95 per cent of the $465 million increase in OSAP grant spending between 2023-24 and 2024-25 went to students at private career colleges. During that period, grants for career college students rose from $554 million to $994 million, surpassing the combined total provided to students at publicly funded colleges and universities. In response, the College Student Alliance said the data raises important questions about how OSAP policy decisions are being made and whether student support is being distributed fairly across Ontario’s postsecondary system. |

| Sault College is seeking community support to address a shortage of student housing, with on-campus residence at capacity and dozens of students on a waitlist for the upcoming academic year. The college is encouraging local residents to list available rooms, apartments, and secondary suites through its Places4Students platform. Officials say access to safe and affordable housing is critical to student success and can influence decisions to enrol or continue studies. The Housing Office is also offering support and guidance to prospective landlords. |

| Fleming College Institute (FCI) is launching a new P.E.A.K. (Positive, Effective, Applied, Knowledgeable) Executive Leadership Program in October 2026, designed for senior leaders, executives, and emerging organizational leaders. The six-month program will focus on intentional leadership, employee engagement, succession planning, trust-building, and organizational effectiveness through a combination of workshops, one-on-one coaching, and peer learning opportunities. The program will be facilitated by leadership coach Sophie Mathewson and builds on the success of FCI’s existing P.E.A.K. Leadership training offerings. |

| Georgian College has received a $1.25 million donation from GuardMe International Insurance to support its new Student Success and Care Centre at the Barrie campus. In recognition of the contribution, the facility will be named the GuardMe Student Success and Care Centre. The centre will bring together academic, mental health, social, and career supports in one inclusive space designed to enhance student well-being, belonging, and success. The donation builds on a longstanding partnership between Georgian and GuardMe focused on supporting student experiences and outcomes. |
